1991 to 1998- Sandoval-Teschner,
Inc. Vice President/Managing Partner of 'The Water
Planet', formerly 'UP Sports-Newport Beach'. As
an owner in the business, responsibilities included
the handling of most functions necessary to run
a successful retail operation; including buying,
advertising, marketing, merchandising, hiring,
online sales, web development, etc. Provided all
sales training for the entire staff. Increased
gross sales 45% during a 4 year period. Became
the number one specialty retailer of its type
in Southern California. Edited and produced numerous
catalogs, newsletters, websites, and promoted
a variety of specialty sporting events. Also,
became a distributor and representative for a
major kayak company.
1988 to 1991- UP Sports,
Inc. General Manager; buyer & top salesperson.
Responsible for major increases in sales and store
profit margins. Developed unsurpassed customer
loyalty through product knowledge, expertise and
enthusiasm. Acted as a liaison between Bic
Sport (a division of the Bic Pen and Shaver
Corporation) and UP
Sports. Helped put together a licensee program
allowing Bic to use the UP name on windsurf sails

Company 'SIA- Ski Retailer of the Year'. Assistant
Manager and top hard goods salesperson for 4 consecutive
years. Also, managed a dry-land ski school using
a revolutionary rotating ski deck. A key person
in developing new departments including snowboarding
and windsurfing.
EDUCATION:
California State University-Long Beach, 1987,
B.A. Economics. Plus completed a number of Design,
Architecture and Marketing courses.
COMPUTER EDUCATION:
New Horizons Computer Centers and LTU; multi-platform
training, completing multiple courses including:
Microsoft, Adobe, Macromedia, Corel, and other
application software. Experience with web development,
graphic design, e-commerce, retail systems, desktop
publishing, office suites, networking and hardware.
