Art Director-Longboard Magazine, San Clemente,
CA
Recruited back to previous leadership position,
gaining greater creative control. Responsible
for all magazine design and production; ad coordination;
building house and client ads; selecting typography,
designing all features, departments and cover.
Expanded responsibilities include training and
supervising associate art staff; supervising photo
shoots; production management; print/project estimating;
developing annual redesign of magazine departments
and templates; designing all corporate collateral
including media kits, calendars, video covers,
business cards, posters, and marketing/promotional
signage; and brainstorming for editorial content
and creative direction. Also responsible for hardware/software

Magazine, Jet Sports Magazine
Art Director of two national, action sports publications:
Longboard Magazine, a national, surfing publication;
and Jet Sports Magazine, produced for the International
Jet Sports and Boating Association (IJSBA). responsible
for cover layout/design, feature design, and the
"policing" of the departments once received
from the editor. Sized all photos, built ads,
and prepared each issue for shipping to the printer.
Additional freelance services given to former
employer, Racer Communications, creating direct
mail pieces and providing temporary magazine production
and design.

Production Manager-Omnipage Design and
Imaging, Irvine, CA
Manager of a digital prepress and digital printing
facility (Macintosh platform). Job Responsibilities:
Logging in and organizing incoming jobs for quick
turnaround; troubleshooting and correcting problem
files for output; creating in-house promotions
and corporate identity pieces; providing design
services for clients customer service; managing
support staff; Mac system maintenance and upgrades;
organizing delivery schedules; and maintaining/ordering
company supply inventory. Also instrumental in
overseeing the building of a company satellite
office in Las Vegas, Nevada, supervising computer
hardware/software installation and reporting to
management any needed utilities.

Art Director-Racer Communications, Inc.,
Tustin, CA
Art Director of three automotive publications:
RACER magazine, a national subscription auto racing
publication; SportsCar magazine, produced for
the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA); and Eagle
Performance Report, a corporate publication produced
for the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company. Instrumental
in the launch of RACER developing comps and initial
design templates. Responsible for the design and
layout of features and departments for all publications
and maintaining the corporate identity of each
publication. Performed ad production when needed
and created in-house promotions and media kits.
Additional responsibilities included acting as
print vendor liaison, troubleshooting inter-departmental
computer systems, and providing production support
for other contracted design work.
